Having attended ballet classes since the age of 2 I have always had a passion for dance. Over the years I have studied many dance styles including ballet, modern, contemporary, jazz, tap and national. I successfully auditioned for a place at the Northern Ballet School in Manchester at the age of 16 along with a grant to attend. I graduated from the Professional Dance Teachers course with the Northern Ballet School Diploma and was awarded the prestigious Choreography Award along with teaching qualifications with the RAD and ISTD including child psychology, history of dance and anatomy.

I then commenced my professional career in dance teaching worldwide in Bermuda and the UK. I have taught in both part time schools and full time colleges, as teacher and Head of Dance, entering pupils for examinations with the RAD and ISTD, choreographing for many shows including London Palladium, Disneyland Paris and The Palace Theatre in Manchester to name but a few.

I have always wanted to run my own dance school and on returning to the UK from Bermuda, and after gaining experience from teaching in various dance schools here, I decided to open Ambitions Dance School in April 2000.

Over the years Ambitions have held many events including our huge Dance Spectaculars, which are held every other year and have raised thousands of pounds for charity. Additionally, we have also held many Presentations, Danceathons and pupils have taken part in the May Queen Festivals. I also produce and direct Lymm Dance Night as part of Lymm Festival every summer and Ambitions senior pupils take part in this local event too. Ambitions has grown from strength to strength and has a wonderful friendly, family atmosphere.

All Ambitions pupils consistently gain very high marks in their highly regarded RAD ballet and ISTD modern and tap examinations. Examinations are not compulsory but by following the syllabus in the classes, under fully qualified experienced teachers, you can be assured the pupils are receiving the best training.

Myself and my fully qualified teachers, Miss Emma and Miss Jenny, are passionate about each pupil achieving their best in their chosen lessons. Nurturing that talent, the delight on the pupils' faces when they step out onto stage, watching their achievements unfold in class and through examinations is the greatest gift for us as teachers.

Physical activity through dance and sport has been proved to assist all areas of learning and expression through freedom of movement is invaluable.

Many Ambitions pupils have gone on to careers in dance, taking up dance degrees and vocational courses in dance including at Trinity Laban, Merseyside Dance and Drama Centre, DanceCity, Shockout and North Liverpool Dance Academy.
